While We Were Gone

While we were at the hospital (and recovering this past week), little man had quite a bit of fun with my parents!

One Week

It is hard to believe our baby girl is already one week old! 

Thankful

We have a lot to be thankful for this year!! Sure do love these little ones. 

I bought a Thanksgiving outfit for munchkin before she was born in hopes that she would be here in time to wear it. My sister made the headband and hat which coordinated perfectly! 

Day 1 & 2

A Family of Four

We are officially a family of four!!

Our little munchkin arrived Friday 11/22/13 at 5:38 pm weighing 7 lbs 13 oz and 20" long. She is so sweet and beautiful and looks like a little doll baby! We are in love with her!! 

Here is a video of little man walking into the hospital and seeing his new baby sister for the first time! He has been interested in the baby but right now he is more excited about having his grandparents in town!

And here is a video of baby girl taken early the next morning. Her hair is brown and her eyes are blue. We think she looks a lot like little man did when he was first born. 

We are so excited to be parents again! 

Coming Soon...

Great news!! My water broke early this morning (and it was about time since my due date was yesterday!!) Contractions hadn't started so I was able to take a shower, have breakfast and take my time getting to the hospital. I was also able to get in one final pregnancy pic. 

I plan to take a break from blogging but will post pics of baby girl at some point! Until then, wish my luck!! 

I would also like to give a HUGE thank you to my mother in law who has been with us for the last ten days. She did all of our cooking, cleaning and cared for little man. I really needed some help and she came to the rescue! Plus little man had so much fun with her!! Thank you, Grandma P! 

Xmas PJ Debut

**Baby Watch Update: no baby. Not in labor. Due date is tomorrow. **

Impromptu Casino Trip

**Baby Watch Update: It's Tuesday night, still no signs of labor but we are crossing our fingers that baby girl comes soon. I am WAY too pregnant right now!** 

Friday night the hubby came home from work, swept me off my feet and drove me to an unknown location! (We left little man at home with my mother-in-law. She is graciously staying with us to help me in my final days and while we are at the hospital). The hubs said he had a gift for me they were holding for him at the counter so I thought we were going to the mall. Imagine my surprise when we pulled into the casino!! 

I had to photograph this for proof. Here I am 39+ weeks preg in a casino. Baby girl is never going to believe it. Luckily my water didn't break - wouldn't that be a fun story. "Mom, tell me about the time when your water broke at a casino!" Very classy. 

So we picked up my gift from the shops (it's a present for after the baby is born!! Nice husband!) and were about to leave when we decided to do something crazy... We each took out $5... The hubs spent his at a poker machine and me... I unleashed my inner pregnant woman and had a chocolate peanut butter milkshake!  Money.Well.Spent. 

A Fall Afternoon

**Baby Watch Update: still no news! Feeling pretty good all things considered. TWO days until my due date!!!**

We have had a few really nice, sunny afternoons. Little man loves to be outside and playing in the leaves has been really fun! 

My Bags Are Packed!

**Baby Watch Update: nothing yet. 6 days until due date. Little man was born 5 days before his due date so I think it really could happen any day!** 

My bags are packed and ready to go. Who are we kidding... they have actually been ready for quite some time now! Here is what I have packed...

Clothes for me and baby girl: 

-Swaddle blankets, burp cloths, hats, headbands, socks, mittens, sleepers and a gown. 

-Nursing tanks, robe, sweat pants, jeans, long sleeved tee and a sweater (plus socks and underwear!)

Bag for toiletries:

-Prenatal vitamins, hair dryer & straightener & 3 cosmetic bags including all make up, shower supplies, contact solution, deodorant,hair brush, hair ties etc. 

Snack bag for the boys: 

When little man was born the hubs didn't want to leave our hospital room to go get food for himself. I had packed snacks for that stay and I wanted to do the same for this one. Plus a bag of goldfish can give us 15 minutes of uninterrupted silence with little man!! 

Little Man's Busy Bag: 

Originally, I had planned on using these items to keep LM busy during our hospital stay. I thought we would be taking him with us for the entire time but I now have my Mother In Law to watch him while we have the baby and then my parents are taking over after that. I plan to bring this bag to the hospital to keep him occupied when he comes to see his new sister (just in case he loses interest in the baby). If we end up not needing everything in the bag I figured I would throw it in his stocking! 

-Big brother shirt, big brother book, wrapped Christmas present (it's a Melissa & Doug puzzle), plastic tools, notebook, crayons, stickers, dry erase toy, toothbrush & toothpaste (LM loves to brush his teeth and would do it for an hour if we let him!!) 

Folder for papers: 

This is a simple accordion folder that I have labeled to help us keep track of all of baby girl's medical papers for the first year. I've labeled the sections: Dr visit, shot records, important docs, and pamphlets. 

I also have thank you gift bags for the nurses:

We have the car seat ready and I also have a list of last minute items (phone charger, tooth brush, etc). Of course the hubs can't pack until his bag until 5 minutes before we walk out the door. We are so opposite sometimes!! 

Running Wild

**Baby Watch Update: Having a few contractions here and there but not enough to go to the hospital (yet!) One week until my due date!**

Little man loves to play chase with the hubs. He grabs his football and says, "Come on dad! Run!" They run laps around the house. Usually June runs with them. Pure craziness :)  [Lately he has also been into wearing his cowboy hat. I'm not exactly sure what this is about]

Preg Pics

...here are all of my preg pics so far. I hope baby girl arrives and I don't have to take any more!! The thought of what I might look like at (or beyond) my due date is frightening!! Here's to hoping my water breaks tonight!! 

Time for Uggs

**Baby Watch Update: still no signs of labor**

Yesterday we were supposed to get our first glimpse of snow. Luckily, that did not happen, however, I am sure it's in the near future! 

I got out my Ugg boots to run a quick errand and little man loved them. He has always liked trying on other people's shoes but the boots have been his favorite. Oddly enough, they aren't that big on him! I guess a combination of him having giant feet and mine being pretty small! 

24 Books of Christmas

**Baby Watch Update: still no signs of labor but only 9 days until my due date! **

This year for little man I wrapped 24 books, one for each day in December. I think he is going to love them! Of course most of the books are about dinosaurs or construction vehicles :) We are getting excited for Christmas!!
