Shaving Cream

I let little man play with shaving cream in the bath tub and it was so much fun!  It entertained him for quite a while.  Next time, I think I may dye the shaving cream with food coloring and let him use a paint brush to play.

Getting ready for bath, not sure what this toy is...
What IS this stuff?
Not sure if I like it...
It's kinda cool

Hmmm.  What could I do with this?
It's awesome!!

No, I don't want to get out already!

Muffin Surprise

Little man loves to open lids, play with tape and put things in, take things out.  I saw this muffin surprise idea floating around the internet and knew it would be a fun one to try at home!  You fill a muffin tin with small trinkety items and then cover them up with lids and tape. He really liked peeling the tape, playing with the bottle caps, and the Hershey kisses! (I was surprised he knew to unwrap the foil!)

From L to R, top to bottom: make up brush, yogurt drops, baby bottle stoppers, apple juice cap lids, plastic ball, red ribbon, Hershey kisses, "S" magnet, pom-poms, rubber band, fuzzy rubbery toys, candy corn
Deep in concentration
Yum!  A reward :)

Loving it Lately!

Lately, we have been loving to READ! Little man loves to bring us books, hop up on the couch, snuggle with a blanket and read.

Right now he really likes books that he can 'lift the flaps.'  We read "Dear Zoo" at least 25 times a day, every day.  He likes to read "Open the Barn Door" by himself. It is a very small book and he likes to carry it around with him.

His two favorite books right now are "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Hiccupotamus."  Wild Things is not a board book so we have to be "extra careful" while turning the pages.  The Hiccup book is very cute and funny (Thanks, Gram Min!). It rhymes, is fun to read and makes little man giggle when I bounce him on my lap at the "hics."

I love reading to him. I have always loved getting lost in a good book and understand the importance of reading to kids when they are little. "Children are made readers on the laps of their parents"

Curing Cabin Fever

We didn't leave our apartment for a whole week. A whole week! With the storms, the "blackout" and considering so many places still don't have power (including a quarter of our building) little man and I haven't left. But the sun came out, and even though half of the street lights are still unlit, we went to the park. Great decision, we had so much fun!

Little man would bang on the slide to tell us he wanted to go down.   We also saw some other kids that he tried to talk to.  They played peek-a-boo with him, which he loved!
