More Beans, Please!

We have been spending a lot if time outside. So when we had a cold, rainy day, we were devastated! How would we spend our day?!

We decided to get out "the beans." Little man always wants to get them out and I rarely let him because they are so messy.

We grabbed some of our fav spoons and cups and poured and scooped until our little heat was content!

PS - Yes, days later I am still finding beans all over our house, fun!

A Black Door

Our front door needed painted BADLY and it has been driving me nuts since the day we moved in.

So, I painted it! I used a high gloss interior/exterior paint. I wiped the door down with a damp cloth then painted using an angled brush and a small roller. The hardest part (by far) was selecting a paint color. I was going to go with pale yellow but decided black would match the shutters and was more of a classic choice.

I love the way it turned out and am so glad I did it. Hopefully this will motivate me to paint the rest of the house (because every single room needs repainted, ugh).

Here is another before/after pic!

SIX

This weekend, the hubby and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary!

One thing the hubs and I like to do is think back to how we've spent our previous holidays, or in this case our anniversary.

2007 - Wedding day!
2008 - Ft Knox, KY: hubby was in the field doing training but when he came out  we went out to eat and ate the top of our wedding cake that had been in the freezer for a year! A few weeks later we picked out a 1st Anniversay gift, our dog! We rescued her and named her June in honor of the month we were married.
2009 - Savannah, GA: we went out to eat on River Street, sat outside at a table overlooking the river and had fresh seafood
2010 - Iraq/Savannah: the hubby had been gone since the previous Oct and was allowed to come home for a 2 week vacation! We spent our vacation on Kiawah Island, SC and celebrated our anniversary a week late
2011 - Louisiana: I was pregnant with little man and we went out to eat at a local French restaurant
2012 - Louisiana: We were only days before moving so we kept it simple and repeated last year! We left the baby at home with family and headed back to the delicious French restaurant
2013 - Conneticut: We went for a long walk on a wooded path and went to a festival downtown. For dinner, we grilled out steak and lobster tails!

Loving It Lately

We LOVE adding color to our baths. Little man likes to pour water from one cup to another and making the water colored is always exciting.

The tablets are red, yellow and blue.  You can add more than one to make additional colors (ie: blue + yellow = green). The dropz do not stain skin, the bath tub, wash cloths or bath toys. We highly recommend them!

A normal bath lasts 5-10 minutes for us.  Bathtime is usually right before bed and little man is tired and easily bored.  When I add in the color dropz, however, he will play for 30-45 minutes!  Lately he has even been pointing to the cupboard I keep the colors in.  Then we go through the list, "Do you want blue? No? Do you want Red? No, Green? Ok"  His favorite seems to be blue or green.  Eventually, I have to drag him out of the tub, kicking and screaming.
.
Minor melt-down when told he has to get out of the tub.
Exhausted and ready for bed!

** Regrettably, Crayola did not pay me to say these nice things about their product. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Intensity

Everything little man does, he does with such intensity! (I have no doubt he gets this from his father). Today's display of intensity was eating a pear. He decided he no longer wanted to eat chopped pieces but instead bite directly into the fruit. The entire time he ate he was grunting with ohhhhs and ahhhhs. Intense and dramatic!

Pool Time

We picked up a pool for the backyard and had a great time splashing around!

Here is a video of little man playing in the pool with his basketball. I filmed this at the end of our play session when he was pretty tired and starting to get whinny.

Lately he has been saying "yes" & "no" when it doesn't really make sense.  Trust me when I say he was having plenty of fun in the pool, despite his response!
