First Birthday Party

For our little man's birthday party, we did an alligator theme.

Water bottle labels

I made his initials by modge-podging scrapbook paper (solid blue with green polka dot on insides) onto paper mache letters (found at JoAnn fabrics, approx $5 ea).  I also made pom poms like the ones found here.

I carried over the alligator theme into some of our party food.  [Not pictured but honorable mentions: Swamp Man Dip (Spinach Artichoke Dip) Alligator Eggs (Deviled Eggs) and Bayou Water (Limeade)] The Swamp Juice ended up being really green -- and fun!  It was Strawberry Kiwi (green) Hawaiian Punch, Sprite and lime sherbert.

The cake, of course, was fabulous.  We had it made by a local bakery that had also made our wedding cakes and little man's baptism cake. The top layer was white cake with a strawberry filling and the bottom layer was chocolate cake with a chocolate truffle filling.  YUM.

Little man's personal cake was chocolate and he loved it! He also had a matching, alligator shirt.

Party favors for the other kiddos:  Coloring book, markers & cotton candy.

What a fun party!! What are we going to do for next year's bash?!

  1. That’s good effort! Thanks a lot for sharing the ideas here. I am also decorating an event space NYC for my niece’s birthday. I can do this scrapbook thing. It looks nice and is pocket friendly too. I wish you had shared the making of this as well. I would love to make it for my nephew also.
